Recently saw a patient for a consultation regarding prevention of developing lymphedema. She is 2 weeks s/p bilateral mastectomy. What is her best option for having blood drawn in the future?

Marge EssinkI had bil mastectomy almost 10 years ago; but had lymph node dissection on left side only. Have LE in left arm and hand. Since no node dissection on right side I allow blood draws and BPs on right side. There are also some nice veins on feet and ankles.... moreI had bil mastectomy almost 10 years ago; but had lymph node dissection on left side only. Have LE in left arm and hand. Phlebotomists aren't necessarily crazy about doing foot draws; but then they do not have LE!
