  • Judith Rafalski I have lymphedema in both of my legs. They have responded pretty well to massage and occasional 3 layer wraps. (I don't know the medical term for that.) I will be having successive knee replacements  later this year. I expect swelling after surgery for awhile but am wondering what experiences you in this community have had on a long term basis in similar situations. Does the lymphedema become more problematic, long term, after knee surgery? I am trying to prepare for the worst and hope for the best outcome. Not having new knees is not an option---the knees are bone on bone and my mobility is very limited.
