  • Trina Bellendir I need help!  I am a new CLT and have a difficult patient.  She has swelling in bilateral upper extremities, more proximal than distal, more left than right.  The swelling is over her deltoids, and into her chest wall laterally.  After MLD she has decrease in the firmness but not overall decrease in size.  The area is almost plasticy feeling.  Any ideas what this could be and what to do?  Thanks

  • kristina c I've had lymphedema for quite sometime now and have not be able to find the right doctors to help me, ive gone to physical therapy in the past but my treatment has been stopped because it was getting better and the therapist recommended that the treatment should stop because my legs at that point were small enough that i could where my braces and could walk, since then my legs have swelled back up and ive been trying everything i could think of to try and reduce the swelling on my own but nothing has worked and i've called a number of places but they either do not take my insurance or do not treat this condition...i'm in Burlington county in new jersey so if anyone can help me find somewhere that can help me it would be greatly appreciated.

  • Carter Marie Hi, I'm not quite sure if this is the correct place to post this but would like to ask a question.  I am new here.  A family member has lymphedema in her leg and it is really bad.  She wants to go to therapy but she is older in her health is not that great.  She would have to travel 3 or 4 times a week for about 1-2 hrs one way trip to the closest clinic.  I have heard that there are some inpatient lymphedema programs. Can anybody tell me if the success rate is higher for the inpatient programs? Maybe someone here has been to one or has first-hand experience?  Thanks so much for any help.
