  • Sandra Banning To therapists and patients- has anyone seen or experienced petechiae or purpura on a lymphedema limb? On my right arm I've had moderate lymphedema for many years- in the last few months I have been experiencing petechiae (pinpoint bleeding under the skin) and extreme sensitivity to minor trauma which also manifests this way, and really they don't go away. My therapist is puzzled, she has never seen this, she is still doing research. None of this on any other body part, my platelet count is normal. Help if you can! Thank you

  • Debby Van Dyk I wish I could remember the name of the bandages my therapist uses - they are self adhering and stay on for a minimum of three days - up to a week....kind of like a flexible cast.  Fairly new process in Australia and my therapist has said to me that she thought it would never work until she started trying it on her patients - she has also found that it heals ulcers well in the elderly.  I agree with her - my legs are so good when the bandages are removed, but the cost is prohibitive - and I get it cheap - $70.00 for the physio & $40.00 for bandages.  I also live in a high humidity area which does not make the bandages pleasant - especially if I get them wet!

  • Jackie Moses Finally a plastic surgeon in Canada who is training as we speak in Belgium to do lymphaticovenular anastomosis, lymph node transfer and lympholiposuction!! He returns to his office in Duncan, BC in January. His name is Dr. A. Anzarut. I have already emailed him and he emailed back same day and we are information gathering at this time via email. Can hardly wait to see him!! I have had lower right leg lymphedema for approximately 10 years due to a previous injury 30 years ago when I was 13. It is probably a stage II.  Will keep you updated!!
