Hi-I am new here. I am joining on behalf of my teenage son. He was recently diagnosed with genital lymphedema. He doesn't have lymphedema anywhere else. We have spent the last few months attempting to find a cause. Presently, I am waiting to hear back, regarding scheduling an evaluation with a therapist. We still don't have a physician to monitor him. Is this necessary? Is there anyone in a similar circumstance, or who knows of anyone of someone who is? Thanks for reading.

I have a question. I'm looking into becoming a lymphedema certified therapist. However, I am physical therapist assistant. If my supervising physical therapist isn't also lymphedema certified, will they be able to set goals and add them to the plan of care so I can treat patients with lymphedema? Or do they need to be lymphedema certified as well?
