I believe this idea still tends to be a recommendation made based on the individual situation. I have not seen any protocols stating otherwise.

Have you heard of this? Has the protocol changed that you know of?

We would recommend the Norton School's online theoretical review. It is ideal for LANA exam preparation: http://www.nortonschool.com/onlinecourses/theoreticalreview.html

This person stated there used to be "talk" out there on whether it is a good or bad and whether it was really in the best interest of the therapist to pursue it. Anybody's thoughts on this?

I'm definitely going for it. I just wanted to see if anyone had any other feedback of the nature. I agree , I think it can't do anything but be good for me as a professional. Thanks for your response :-)

I would test out some light compression first, like Tubigrip. Then maybe she can tolerate a cotton compression glove. I found a good one online from SammonsPreston. She just may need to be eased into compression. Good luck!

Very busy with my patients, on my 3rd month of the new lymphadema clinic and we are going like gangbusters. Still ,the only therapist in my "clinic", but thats OK. Was going to ask if any therapists or patients out there had any irritation to the bandages and if they did, what did they do about it? Thanks Catherine.

Thanks for getting in touch...sorry I didn't recognize your name at first, but so glad to make the connection again. I'm finding the same conditions here in mid-VA--no CDTs within 50+ miles of Stafford. I'm very anxious about getting my certification as there are patients waiting for treatment. I feel that need to find a mentor to work with me--so Bernadette suggested I join this online community. I see that you have used their expertise several times so I'm feeling a lot more confident. Best of luck with your program and I know you will do great work in Texas. I'll let you know how I do in Philly. Dianna less

Skin and nail care are a critical part of the CDT process. Find a water based lotion/cream that you like and use it daily! Dry,cracked skin can lead to wounds, or cellulitis!
