Hey Margaret! Thanks for the birthday message!
I hope you are doing well. It’s nice of you to reach out to these people and lend a listening ear. It seems like with lymphedema nobody else understands. I personally got diagnosed with lymphedema in my left leg when I was 36, I just turned 40. I have primary lymphedema which means I didn’t get it from radiation or any type of cancer treatment. It is super rare to have primary lymphedema but that’s what I got. I was sad and angry at first, but now that a few years of gone by I feel like I’m handling it a lot better. I wear my compression socks on most all the time that I’m awake, and when I sleep I always sleep with my left leg elevated or while using the compression pump. I try to stay in good shape and eat right because my doctors told me that would help. I like to tell people that lymphedema doesn’t prevent me from doing anything that I could do before, it just makes it a little more difficult.  less

My right leg I can go 24 hours, some times, without it wraped. I can still do most things except standing for a long time in one place, stairs and I walk slow. Most of the time I am in good spirits bur we all have our bad times. Thanks again for sharing.
