The dr gave me two prescriptions one antibiotic the other is a cream to rub into the bites. He said to call tomorrow if no progress. But the area is no longer warm or so itchy. The lymph node under my arm appears to be shrinking also. Unfortunately, he didn’t think the swelling in my arm with lymphedema would go down.
Harriett RichardHere’s a bit about me. 1st I am glad to find this community. 2nd my arm swelling has occurred significantly 5 years after surgery. I am Breast Cancer Survivor/Researcher. Psychologist. Fulbright Scholar. Past ABPsi Board member. Sign Language Interpreter.
This is a recent blog posting of mine. It contains 2 others on lymphedema. Hopefully, it will serve as my introduction. I’m happy to find this community.

I had a mastectomy in 2009. Soon after that I was fitted for a glove and sleeve 2010. I also got a sleeve to sleep in which covers my hand and arm and is supposed to help reduce swelling. Recently I noticed increased swelling in my arm with pain around my chest. Checked it out and thankfully no blood clots.
Anyway, sorry for the going on. My main point is the one I wear for sleeping which is soft, but firm and a bit clunky is helping reduce the swelling. Not a lot but some. I had hoped my dr would have sent me to a therapist for wrapping and massage, but no such luck. The lemph massage therapist and the night garment work best. Although I am wearing mr sleeve and gauntlet during the day. less
