What it means is that your lymph vessles have been damaged or changed due to the cancer and if you have surgery from the surgery. What you need to do to keep the lymphedema in check is to see a Lymphedema specialist they will do Mannual Lymph Drainage (MLD) a special type of massage to keep the swelling (Lymphedema) under control in your arm. then the Specialist will either wrap your arm with bandages or fit you with a special made to order lymphedema garment for your arm and chest if needed. If the Lymphedema is not managed it can get worse and cause lost more trouble such as skin changes. It is imporant that you deal with the lymphdema now as if it is not dealt with it does have the potential to get worse. I would love to visit more with you and answer any questions you may have. To much detail to go into in a single post!! Hope you are well Ps I would stop the massage as typical massage not MLD can cause increase damage to the tiny lymph vessles under your skin in your arm leading to increased swelling.  less
