It has been a long year. lymphedema in my right leg came into my life after the birth of my daughter via c-section. It has gradually gotten worse this past year. The odd thing is I have two swollen lymph nodes in my groin. The first lymph node did not seem to come with too much swelling but when the second showed up the swelling took off and has caused painful scar tissue in my hip. My GP was at a loss as to how to help. I did my research and started Lymph message therapy. It has helped but caused areas of scar tissue in my upper thigh and hip . Now I have started to focus on the nodes. I am currently having acupuncture treatments with the hope of reducing and healing the lymph nodes. My hope is that the lymphedema will go away as a result. My first session was amazing. The nodes visibly shrunk and the swelling went down as well. At night I feel my right leg swelling slightly. My hip is still painful from the scar tissue. I am encouraged so far and will continue. I am hoping to find someone with the same lymphedema story, or encouragement that I am heading in the right direction.

Thank you for welcoming me in. I have CLL, 76 years old and had chemo in 2010. In remission until lately...white cell count is climbing up again. Not worried though since there are some good treatments available now.

Has anyone used the Sigvaris Doff N Donner to put on your compression hose. It is rather expensive but if the reviews are correct, it sounds very helpful.

Hello to the Community,
I was diagnosed Hereditary Lower Limb Lymphedema about 10 years ago. I have also inherited terrible venous insufficiency and bulging varicose veins (thanks, Mom!).
Though vein doctors wanted to perform vein ablation therapies years ago, my limited understanding of Lymphedema told me to steer clear of intentionally opening the skin for fear of infection. But after a recent superficial thrombophlebitis, and a DVT the year before, the vein doc says I really need to get rid of these pesky veins. He wants to perform radio frequency ablation and sclerotherapy on the lymphedema leg, and microphlebectomy, RFA, and sclero on the other. So my big question.... is it craziness to do this in the presence of lymphedema, or is it common practice these days. The doc says there's no worries, but this is how he makes his living, so he's a little biased in my opinion. Have any members been successful with vein ablation...or have horror stories to share? I welcome any advice!
