  • Elizabeth Langford Well, I'm finally over a cold, allergies, and bronchitis. Now, on Oct 7th, is my surgery. I am sooooo happy, I'm taking cookies to the surgery staff. I've been exercising every day for over two weeks to help my arm and body get stronger. I've been figuring out how to do things with my left hand only. That is a challenge. Pups is slowly losing her eye sight. We've noticed a change in her. She still gets a lot of love and encouragement. She is so helpless, compared to my own concerns. She totally depends on us to be there for her. I've thought about that in my relationship with God. God is there for me every day. It doesn't matter what I call the Power that made me. Faith is my bridge to cross and maintain every day. The way I love my pups is the way God loves me but on a deeper level. That keeps me going more and more each day. Thanks to those of you who've written back. No, I'm not preaching. I mention God's presence because I've denied it for so long and now that I am getting older, I've got to pay attention to what is greater than I am. For in doing that, I keep my perspective about how much I am a part of God's World and that my healing and acceptance work hand in hand with everything else. Just venting.

  • Denise McKenna Hello Everyone, I developed lymphedema in my right leg after endometrial cancer surgery 6 years ago. Had no chemo or radiation, they removed some lymph nodes on my right side. I currently walk with (2) canes, use a walker in my apartment when needed, quad canes in bad weather. It hurts every day but you have to fight it. The elastic stockings are a real pain to put on/take off. Most of the time I wear a velcro piece on my lower leg. I try to put my feet up when I can. I retired in January, just moved and lost my mom in October. After I settle down, will concentrate on exercising and taking care of myself. Will never give up...I just turned 63.
