  Sandy Thompson My Medicare wants me to do well check ups , mammograms,& other things to stay well.such as flu shoots. So when will Medicare realize we need compression wear to stay healthy.

  Sandy Thompson Any idea where I can get cheaper jusso thigh high socks & girdel.last year it was $385.00 this year I'm 65 & on Medicare . It's $2765.00 because no Medicare coverage. I can't afford that.

Until 1 year ago found a certified lymphdemia specialist about 90 miles away . She fitted me in heavy jusso thigh high socks & girdel . They were $385.00 but this year I went back and I'm 65 now on Medicare and the same socks & girdel are $2726.00 way too high. Any ideas? Thanks Sandy

    margaret webb Last month I got a "Ready Wrap". It was $350 for one leg. I love it. When I save enough money I will order another one for the other leg. I hope thithis information helps

    linda e no, but i got my last compression garment from a non-profit group, i think was in SF area. I had to write an essay. Wish i still had their address, my therapist set it up for me

It did wonders for my legs much better , no swelling . After insurance my socks and...  moreHi I went to a certified lymphdemia nurse and was measured and fitted with heavy just socks and girdel. I was also told to use my pump every day , not 1 time a week. It did wonders for my legs much better , no swelling . After insurance my socks and girdel were $385.00 which I thought was high. Well any way I used for 1 year then lost 60 lbs so I went back to get more. But now I was 65 and on Medicare. When she measured me this time they called and said my socks and girdel would be $2726.00 . Crazy ! I can't afford this so unsure what I will do when they give out on me. Any ideas?. They did good but I can't afford that amount. Thanks Sandy  less

    Staff Certified Lymphedema Therapist Sounds like they need to measure you for a custom made garment. If your therapist cannot do this for you, then call medical supply vendors in your area to see if they have compression garment fitters on staff.

I'm a large lady 3xxx and because I have cone shaped legs they say they won't stay up on me. I  was told to get bicycle shorts, but I need something in a Capri that is compression of 20 to 30 . Do you no of anyplace I can find them. T hey said I could have a pair of compression wear made for me, but would cost $2000 .00 or more and I can't. Afford that. Thanks for any ideas sandy  less

They have increased in size over 12...  moreHi I'm sandy and I have had lymphedema over 6 years after a ruptured ackillis tendon ,and a blood clot. Ihave worn tuba grip do bled on my lower legs, but have noticed over the last 2 years my knees were swelling. They have increased in size over 12 centimeter in 1 year. So I went to lymphedema clinic and done wraps and message for 8 weeks. Then I was to go to a orthopedic person to be fitted for circ aides, but she said she couldn't fit my upper leg. I'm a big lady, 3 xxx and she said I have coned legs and they would slide down. So I have been trying to find a pair of compression capris, in a 20 to 30 compression. If you have any ideas I'd love them. I have tried wrapping from knee up but they won't stay. I need something from below my knee up. She told me we could have something made special, but it would be almost $2000. And I can't afford that. Thanks sandy  less

    The best result will come from seeing a Certified Lymphedema Therapist for 4-6 weeks and then immediately being fit for compression garments for day wear. It would be advisable to wear the bandages suggested to you by the lymphedema therapist...  moreHi Sandy,
    
    The best result will come from seeing a Certified Lymphedema Therapist for 4-6 weeks and then immediately being fit for compression garments for day wear. It would be advisable to wear the bandages suggested to you by the lymphedema therapist at night. If you wait too long after seeing the therapist to be fitted for compression, it will not work well in the long run. Do you have a lymphedema therapist you can see now?
