Michele E. Oh no. I've never had a weeping wound. May I ask - was it caused by trauma (unexpected nick)?

Ellie Y nearest I can figure is it was just a pimple or an ingrown hair or something, its on the inner thigh, but then obviously at some point it got a little more serious than that. Luckily i have no fever.

But it was in a place you NEVER want to get it - yeah, "there". Genital lymphedema is nasty stuff. My experience and reading tell me that a sudden increase in fluid can also cause lymphorrhea. And that was my case, too. I'm editing a blog to post here about our need to monitor and manage changing conditions. Yeah, no doubt cuts and lesions or even dry skin (see Alexa's blog at "The Lymphie Life" on Wordpress.) will bring it on, too. But I had none of that on my, well, "parts", and it was definitely weeping just the same. As soon as I relieved the condition with massage, wrapping the leg and changing my garment the next day it went away.
Good thing you don't have a fever.  less

I'm taking my temperature every two hours right now, i'm so worried about infection. Thank you for the responses. This totally weirded me out.. guess its just another one of the joys of lymphedema.

Michele E. Ellie, did you start compression? My body has been going through changes as I have started the bandage compression which is different from stockings. Thank God there is no fever.

I will start next week, assuming I dont see any signs of infection by then. my fiance will be learning how to do the wrapping and the massage next week, which should be comical. i'm glad he finds humor in it. he says my leg is crying haha i'm going to be elevating all weekend which is about all i can do right now, along with keeping the wound clean and keep fresh gauze on it.  less

Michele E. It's great to have people around to help, and humor makes the day smile! I wish my cats had hands! They give me funny looks when I'm wrapping so I think they find me humorous! Doesn't make me feel any better. Just be encouraged and continue to take...  moreIt's great to have people around to help, and humor makes the day smile! I wish my cats had hands!
