    Jim Miller: I agree with Michele. Keep it clean, get past it and start  your compression wraps as soon as you can.

    Ellie Y wound care question... i have a wound on my leg (not big, the opening is the size of a pencil eraser) that is weeping lymph fluid and blood on and off.  I have an rx for keflex right now and ive been cleaning it and putting neosporin and gauze bandage...  morewound care question... i have a wound on my leg (not big, the opening is the size of a pencil eraser) that is weeping lymph fluid and blood on and off.  I have an rx for keflex right now and ive been cleaning it and putting neosporin and gauze bandage on it.  is there anything else i should/should not be doing? ive never had a weeping wound like this before.

      Jim Miller I have only had one weeper (my friend Alexa got it this week and says it is called "lymphorrhea"). But it was in a place you NEVER want to get it - yeah, "there". But it was in a place you NEVER want to get it - yeah, "there". Genital lymphedema is nasty stuff. My experience and reading tell me that a sudden increase in fluid can also cause lymphorrhea. And that was my case, too. I'm editing a blog to post here...

      Ellie Y it must have started weeping days ago... i have this weird orange spot on my sheets, and I figured it was from my cats or something, but it must be lymph fluid or a mix of lymph fuid and blood.       Michele E. Ellie, did you start compression? My body has been going through changes as I have started the bandage compression which is different from stockings. Thank God there is no fever.

      Ellie Y I was supposed to yesterday, but the PT didnt think it was a good idea, since it may encourage any bacteria to float around the rest of the body. I will start next week, assuming I dont see any signs of infection by then. my fiance will be learning how...  moreI was supposed to yesterday, but the PT didnt think it was a good idea, since it may encourage any bacteria to float around the rest of the body. I will start next week, assuming I dont see any signs of infection by then. my fiance will be learning how to do the wrapping and the massage next week, which should be comical. i'm glad he finds humor...

      Michele E. It's great to have people around to help, and humor makes the day smile! I wish my cats had hands! They give me funny looks when I'm wrapping so I think they find me humorous!     Ellie Y got my care package of bandages today to get me all ready for MLD. I also have artiflex and tricofix and some other stuff i sure hope to understand how to use eventually!

      Ellie Y thank you! i've had lymphedema since 2006, and its time for me to go back and do manual lymph drainage again because im losing the battle with my growing legs....

      Michele E. Hey we're family, please ask - no fear, we are all here to help and encourage :-). I happen to have primary lymphedema throughout my body! I have a huge scar on my left leg. I don't like it, but.........it's there.
