And so the real learning just begins ...and the one thing I am missing is a mentor to help me along the way (we are short of trained professionals in this area) I am really passionate about this work and want to get it right! Ideally I would like to have a buddy to email my questions..some simple ..some needing experience..should I post them to you here? is there a list of frequently asked questions to read first ? Does anyone want to be my mentor? Thanks! less

I was so excited to hear from my Rehab Director, Carol Elissad, that we will have a certification course here at Providence, Waco, Tx , in March 2017. Please let whoever the instructors are that they can contact me here at 254 751-4133. I'm the only lymphedema therapist in our department at this time. Really excited about this opportunity to get some more lymphedema therapists aboard.

Have you heard of this? Has the protocol changed that you know of?
Jeff Smith: I need some suggestions on wrapping for a BKA. I am having problems getting the wrap to stay on the stump using the regular stump wrap technique. Any suggestions would be very helpful.

They have the same pressure as the ugly cream looking ones. People think I'm tattooed . I am tattooed on the right side. Now I am happy I am on the left. Fashion statement.
Sasha Vinokur: Steve, can you tell me if you have used Coban 2 with lymphedema patients instead of bandaging? Or have any information about this. Thank you

Seeing a patient with stage III bilateral LE lymphedema. I have used
gray foam before when the skin fold at distal ankle was not as large
which seemed to do well,
however she returns to therapy with significantly more edema in this area.
The large skin fold at distal ankle now drags on the floor.
Are there any templates or ideas for enveloping and lifting this type
of skin fold? I recall some pattern that looked like a flower
cut out of the foam.
The ankle is inserted into the “center portion of the flower” and the
“petals” wrap proximally up the lower leg, securing with Idealbind. Is this cor rect? Thanks less

Hi there, you can do a therapist search through Nortonschool.com. They will provide you with a list of therapists in your area that can treat lymphedema. Good luck!

I have other info to share with you about my condition but prefer to do so off this site. 3 years ago did 4 weeks of CDT. Just this month I met with Dr. Boris and Bonnie in Long Island. When we connect privately, I will fill you more. I am so grateful. Thank you, Steve! Cathy

I remember you well and hope that there was at least a little I could offer back then. The times haven't changed markedly in that CDT is still the Gold Standard therapy (not a bad thing since it works quite well) but many hope for a high tech solution which will still be some years off. We do train therapists annually still at MGH and the course draws from the entire region. That said Boston and perhaps the Mass health care structure has made it hard for a system like CDT to thrive. I'll take a close look at our list of grads and see if anyone pops out. I sometimes get a feel when graduates call me for advice. Its a good sign they're making it work and are dedicated and talented. I'll do some research and get back to you. may I have your regular email address? It make it easier for me to stay on track with you. I hope you are otherwise well! My bests, Steve less
C Holley: Hi Steve. I am a close friend of Bobbie and Gordy, up in Boston Met you many years ago when you were up visiting. I have R LE lymphedema, which is progressing. Can you recommend CLD options up here? Thanks, Steve.
