What were they thinking? I can't get by a day without mine (on the left leg - had it 45 years but didn't get good treatment until the past two). But the right leg, where it just stared showing up two years ago, can go without a garment some days. I usually wear one of those over the counter dress socks from Juzo and it handles the swelling fine until I go on a long bicycle ride then I need an OTC thigh high (Juzo again). 
  Do you do any MLD on your own leg? That helps me. And plus I have elevated my bed about 6" at the foot, with a modified bed frame, and that angle (feet higher than the heart) makes a huge difference every day. Except my wife isn't too keen on the sleeping position - she loves me enough to deal with it. As for the pump, I'm surprised you don't see benefits from that. If you decide to give it up, let me know and maybe I'll buy it from you.

If you are using a pump already i can see that you've  had either sparse input from medical professionals or have been trying to figure this all out on your own. The best therapy available (based upon international consensus) is Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT) and there are many therapists trained here in the USA to deliver it. If you go to Nortonschool.com you'll see a button (Therapist directory). Type in a zip code and it'll generate therapists in your area. Texas is a large state so you may travel to find someone but my experience with primary lymphedema, and I've seen hundreds of primary lymphedema's is that you are wiling to do what it takes to get the best results. It is primary lymphedema, and so far no one has really pointed me in any direction other than out the door =) well anyways, I have the new lymphapress machine, but it doesn't seem to work to well. I have also checked in to a new drug therapy that is still in trial stages, anyone familiar with it? Thanks for your help, Angelica.

Once you wear them for a while it...  moreI just went to the local boot store and asked them if they are willing to help us out and they said to give them a few days and they will have available pictures of their boots that they can sell to us for up to 30% off. Once you wear them for a while it really helps when the swelling increases throughout the day. I think I made the mistake of wearing flip flops to many times now.
